Master Todd Brown

5th Dan WT Master and Owner

Thank you for your interest in Black Dragon Taekwondo.

I began my martial arts journey at 15 with the Korean art of Tang Soo Do, transitioning to Taekwondo at age 19. In 1990, I joined this very school under the guidance of Master Chris Burt. Since then, I have not only earned the rank of 5th Dan Black Belt but have also expanded my training to include Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Silat, Kali, and Eskrima. While we occasionally draw from these systems, Black Dragon Taekwondo remains firmly rooted in traditional Taekwondo.

My teaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, precise technique, and respect for tradition. I believe that with solid technique comes capable competitors—but martial arts should never be about chasing points alone. Instead, I strive to balance the depth of Taekwondo as both an art and a modern sport, ensuring students grow as skilled martial artists and disciplined individuals.

Master Jared Gilreath (Mr. G)

5th Dan ITF Master Instructor

I have been training in martial arts for over 35 years, and my journey has been shaped both inside the dojang and on the battlefield. I proudly served 10 years in the Army National Guard Infantry, completing two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. During that time, I was assigned to Personal Security Detail (PSD), where I had the honor of protecting Iraqi state officials and Brigadier General Phillips.

In martial arts, I hold the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in ITF Taekwondo and founded C.O.M.A. (Concepts of Martial Arts), a system that focuses on practical self-defense—essentially MMA designed for real-world application. I also currently train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a Blue Belt, and I have studied several other martial arts styles to broaden my skills and perspective.

As an instructor, I believe in discipline, respect, and adaptability. My goal is to help students grow stronger not just for Taekwondo, but for life outside the school as well.

Mr. Tristan Ziegler

2nd Dan Black Belt Instructor

I began practicing Taekwondo in 2017 in South Dakota and moved to Oklahoma in 2019. Under the guidance of Master Todd Brown, I earned my black belt in June 2022 and my second-degree black belt in August 2023. At the age of 17 years old I began a new chapter in my training, teaching Taekwondo classes.

My passion for Taekwondo comes from the discipline, fitness, and confidence it has given me. Teaching allows me to pass those same values on to others, and I enjoy helping students of all ages discover what martial arts can bring to their lives.
